The same shot from a low and a high angle, they each have a character of their own but I would appreciate your thoughts on which is the better shot.

Number 1 - makes me feel more present in the scene and the foreground lead lines draw the eye through the image.

I'd have gone even slightly lower so the stump protrudes slightly more above the horizon. The extra scenery in the 2nd (the sheep, etc) don't add anything and I prefer the foreground.

Many thanks Guys. I was leaning that way myself but it was the alternate diagonal of the rocks in the stream that gave me second thoughts.
