Not done rugby for a while.. Did half an hr a couple of months ago but sat first full game. Blackburn v Whitehaven... orrible day but stopped raining long enough :)

you would lose the center attraction unless you opened up bottom as well .you would also get more sky and lose the "busy" effect ..I know agree with you.. i didn't like losing his eyes myself but the bigger crop loses the purpose of the pic.. its one of them 90% a good pic :)
 
Decent set

1 is a throw away. Messy, player's back is turned, the crop is all wrong.

2 is the best of the bunch

3 and 4 standard action but very messy

5 Nice action shame the billboard is the first thing you see

6 Need colour correcting, white balance a bit off

7 good

8 bit different, good

Thats my fault.. I crop everyhting 7x5 for online sales. keeping foot in meant going to high everywhere else... took a balance call.. my cropping does limit me sometimes :(
 
Todays paper.. lancashire Telegraph Grass roots pullout.. I submit the pics and the editors decide what to use from around 20 sent..
