For years now I've been using the old, free, version of Nik with Lightroom v6.14 and Photoshop Elements 14. One of the things I like to do is to paint in the effect onto an area of the image in Elements.
Recently, I bit the bullet and subscribed to Adobe CC. All seemed OK until I tried to brush a Color Efex adjustment onto an image in Photoshop 2020.. Whilst actively brushing, the effect was apparent and visible but, on releasing the mouse button, it disappeared.
OK, I thought, the time has come for me to stump up and buy the latest version of Nik from DxO. Happily, I noticed that there was a free trial available so I downloaded that, intending to pay up once I'd verified that I was happy with it.
Tried the brush function in Photoshop 2020 and, lo and behold, same problem. What's going on?
Old, and new, version of Nik still work fine with Elements 14, BTW.
