Nikon Z* mirrorless

For action I normally use Dynamic or Wide-S. If I'm in AF-S I usually use single or pinpoint.

My Z6 body is on its way back from Nikon having sent it in due to peeling skin on the body between the grip and the mount. 11 days away in total. They have replaced the outer rubber skin, carried out a full service, provided a 6 months warranty on the works, and DPD are delivering it back free of charge. The repair was done under an "advisory" notice so free even though I bought it through e-infinity. I also had a guarantee from e-infinity that if there were any costs they would reimburse me. Quite impressed.
Keep an eye on it. I had that done months ago and the 'new' rubber was just the same as the old. It's now worse than it was when I first had it fixed.
Did they say that it's 'new' 'new' rubber now??
(if you know what I mean?)

The invoice for £0.00 states:

12R6C MEDIA LID / COVER UNIT
12G7R DIOPTER ADJUSTMENT KNOB COVER

I would hope the new grip rubber is fit for purpose. We shall soon see....

Doesn’t look like it, only in movie mode.

So what most see as a useless option that gets switched off immediately, you see as a deal breaker? Why do you need pre-AF? it's just a battery drainer that serves no real solid purpose for photography, not sure it's even useful for video. Modern AF systems are that quick nowadays, why the need to 'pre' AF?

Just a few snaps before letting the battery charge fully. Pretty pls that 24-70 is a sharp lens. Not don’t a proper test yet as battery on charge

But the feel of the camera the location of the buttons has put a smile on my face

to be honest, I can't remember reading about anyone who got a poor copy of the 24-70. Other than the barrel distortion (which is automatically corrected in Adobe RAW) I really can't fault it.

With respect, I don't think @rookies sees it as a deal-breaker. After all, he's now bought one and has stated that he doesn't really see a need for the pre-AF anyway. As you say, it's a waste of energy. :)

As Stephen said, Rookies stated he's not bothered if it doesn't (y)

Ah I missed that he'd bought one, I thought it was what was preventing him from. I mis-read it as him saying he's not bothered [buying one] if it doesn't do pre-AF ... d'oh moment from me, nowt new :D

Yours seem a bit small, which size bbcode are you using? I tend to use the largest medium. TP cripples images though.

Will try largest medium next time buddy

Have you seen the price of the new Sandisk CFexpress, £175 for 64GB

Yep, gonna stick with XQD myself lol

I was hoping that as CFExpress is going to be more universal it'd bring the prices down. Wishful thinking ;)

Are these the same as xqd?

Yeah basically, XQD was developed with Sony and they hold the rights. So means licensing fees etc. CFexpress is open. Although there needs to be a firmware update for the Zs to use CFexpress, apparently due November.

I know QXD and CFÈxpress are compatible camera-wise, but what about card reader?
Good question

Seems it’s not been implemented yet, and when they do it’ll only be type B, whatever the difference is?

No mention of it, whether it will ‘accidentally’ pick up on some animals eyes who knows  :$
