Nikon Z* mirrorless

Definitely not right. I can’t think of a setting that you can do that, nor can I think why you’d want to do that. I’d try a reset and if that doesn’t work send it back for a replacement I’m afraid.
Thanks. A reset has done nothing, will get on to them today to get it returned.

That really sucks, feel for you :(
The shutter on my D750 failed on Tuesday too, 2 cameras parcelled up and going off today. Not sure what the z6 situation says about Nikon quality control when it was the first thing I saw after turning the camera on and putting it to my eye.

Well it doesn't appear to be a common fault, so I wouldn't have thought it a 'quality control' issue at all.

Maybe your eye is upside down, and the cam flipped the infos round accordingly.

That's really weird, it's as though the EVF has been installed upside down but then all the exposure info is the right way up at the bottom ? Very weird.

It's not an Australian market camera is it :)

Exposure info was also upside down, and also looked weirdly mirror imaged as well as upside down o_O

I'd actually contact email customer services and explain how disappointed you are with your Nikons, first the shutter and then the EVF. They usually bump it up as priority if nothing else.

Just noticed your new avatar Toby, perchance a Liverpool supporter

I went for a walk with the 24-200 this morning. Light was decent. I've put 12 images up on my flickr account over a range of focal lengths.
Zoom lock is very useful when walking. all handheld. The one at the national trust property where the first is at 24mm and the second focused on the blue door in the tower
shows the versatility of the focal range.

No cropping on any image.

They look amazingly good. Mine is in the country now (coming from the Netherlands) and should be here Monday, touch wood. Can’t wait!

That is weird. Never heard of that on any camera. I agree it should go back, but maybe speak to Nikon customer service in case there’s a simple explanation.
I just sent it back to where I bought it from and they are sending me a new one.

I thought that it should have been easy to spot before it left the factory as all you needed to do was turn it on and look into the viewfinder.

All the exposure info was upside down too, really odd. It is my first mirrorless camera and I thought I was doing something daft:p

My D750 was part of the recall a few years back and I never bothered sending it in as I never saw any problem with it so maybe that is my own fault. If they replace the shutter now I will probably sell it. I just sent the Z6 back to the shop for a new replacement. Thanks for all your help.

That’s odd. This thread has disappeared from view. I have to search for it.
Have I inadvertently clicked to make it invisible?
Anyone got any ideas ?

This z6 if definitely rubbish for wildlife, The lag is just unusable

Have you seen Steve Perry's info on using the Z cameras for wildlife? No idea if it will help, and you may already know everything he suggests, but if not...

I think he was being sarcastic (y)

Sorry I thought I'd put smiley faces after my comment clearly I hadn't. Yeah it is harder and a bit more forward thinking needed on some shots. But I'm loving it at the minute

Well, I didn't look at the images properly, and although they looked OK to me, I just assumed you were unhappy with them, but a smiley would have stopped me looking stupid :)

And to anticipate the response, yes I know with or without a smiley, I'm still going to look stupid :-(

One of the most useful videos for the Z that I’ve seen. Thanks for the link.

My 24-200 has just arrived, along with a voucher for 15% off my next purchase from the Nikon store! Now to try it out - if it stops raining!

No I'm the one who looks stupid not you mate.

Nikon Rumors so maybe a pinch of salt required

So basically what the Z6 & Z7 should have been from the get go (y)

Nikon have form on this.
Off the top of my head I can think of F70s, F801s, D4s etc.
