Built in 1903 as 1 of 2 prototypes by North Eastern Railway, 3170 was powered by a petrol engine driving a dynamo which supplied power to the electric motors. It was withdrawn in 1931 and spent the next 70 years in a field in North Yorkshire where it had been converted into a holiday home.

What a beautiful looking car this is and the colour shot shows how stunning it really looked.
3rd shot goes to show that the instrument panel, deadmans handle (although it looks like it was a plate on the floor) and brake handle did not change much in many years (I am ex Railway)
Lovely shots of something I have never seen before.

One hell of a restoration and well captured.

Thanks Andrew, not sure what the full cost of the restoration but at least £500k was raised from grants. There is also 1904 autocoach to go with it.

What a wonderful car, excellent shot also (y)
