A serious question:

Could you explain, Mike,
why this was bad light?

The way I see it, the only thing that could support
your efforts is a focus assistance of some kind…
like those provided by my flashes (SB900) or a
small LED flashlight I always have in my bag.

Indeed, it is difficult for everyone to acquire sure
focus in too dim light condition —even manually —
but else than that, I see you succeeded pretty well. :cool:

Thanks, I'm fortunate that my Sony has nifty focus peeking which helps a lot, but when you're hand holding at such shallow DOF's even a a slight wobble back or forward can ruin things. Fortunately most time I can shoot again!

Nice set Mike the mite us very good and I like the spider in it's nest.

Some people produce amazing shots at night.
