An early birthday present my wife meant I could finally get my new camera (a7iii) and she even let me get a few shots of her on our NYE dog walk - (she's usually quite reluctant) but I'm happy with how they turned out, and I'm hoping it means she will be more willing in future.

As a bonus it also means she can start to learn a bit on my a7 :D

I think a reflector would've helped here, would love to hear CC.

You probably could have worked in a reflector if that's part of your game. But I think you nailed the rimlight. My only suggestion would be to pay attention to your backgrounds when using backlight. The first shot, where you're above her, the background complements the light well. The last one features the rimlight against a dark background. Middle ones seem a little random. Your lighting gets lost in the backgrounds a little bit. If you meant to do that, you didn't do it enough.

I can't offer any advice /suggestions but just thought I would say the light colours tones all help to deliver lovely images to view.
