Just wanted to show you an Oak weevil i took the other day. It had a damaged wing and couldn't fly off but it could certainly run a lot...

All taken at F16 before my latest advice..

My picks are #2 and #7!

I wonder why #4 is looking
    so different than the others?

I think the deep DoF worked out well for the first one.
The second is pretty eye-catching - super angle.
The flies look really good to me, especially the second one.

Perhaps this one was the only one turning into the light, or is a near bum shot and the scales/hair were facing the other way. More likely not such a good shot. Thanks daniel.:)
THanks Leroy. The colour of the weevil is a tad more orange than the original i think and that was my fault.

Thanks Nick. I have got Zerene stacker but this little beetle would just not stand still. I took him home to try and get some better shots, kept him for 2 days then drove 3 miles to let him go..I gave up on the stack. :)

I think the f16 works really well for these. Good luck with the dragonfly, I haven't even seen one this weekend.

I think the magnification was less than x2 so may have worked better than a higher mag' Still haven't had chance to try f 8 - 9 yet.
