Hi All.

Been a rubbish summer for bugs up here (Edinburgh) - just not much about.

Same here. There has been so little showing up in the garden that I haven't bothered to go out to the local nature reserves (well, only once, a couple of months ago, and found very little). Probably a mistake. I'm planning on trying again this month.

Your two shots here are very appealing, especially for me the first one for some reason, although I do like them both.

Finally got a shot of a hairy-bodied fly that are numerous around here but very sensitive to movement. It was quite dark this morning so this was shot at f4-ish.

I bought a Sigma DP3M off Greytop in Classified. It's a 50mm which focuses reasonably closely and then you crop the file whilst still retaining quite a bit of detail.
