Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 - Mk1, Mk2 & Mk3 Owners Thread

Anyone got the Nissin Di700A and commander ? Seen some good reports about it.

I think he meant the EM1 mk1. And it does, it apparently works pretty good with old Four thirds lenses using an adapter
Yep I have it in the back of my mind that the a/f would be better than the pano g80 due to phase detect focus ??

It very well could be for BIF and wildlife in general, I know the em1 mkII certainly would be.

Just be mindful of a few things - You lose the articulating LCD, you'll have just the tilt option, you lose 4K video if that's important, and though some will say otherwise, the Olympus menu system and touch screen implementation are terrible compared with Panasonics. The G80 has had firmware updates to better the AF system and stabilization over the past few years, the Em1 hasn't really gotten much love in that dept because of the mkII

Other than that the Em1 is just as tough, weather sealed, has a nice grip and if you get the silver trim one it's the better looker :D Oh, and one bonus is that it can do 1/8000 mech shutter

I’ve got no direct experience of Panny DFD but based on reports I would expect it to be better than the EM1i if you are using Panasonic lenses.

If you have Oly lenses then the DFD won’t work so the EM1 will be better. However, don’t expect miracles, CAF is just about usable (which is a step up from all the CDAF models).

Those a heavy crop or are you using anything else on the OLYMPUS M.60mm F2.8 Macro?

Yes they are cropped to 16/10 at least apart from the last which is still 4/3 but all cropped.

Anyone got the Nissin Di700A and commander ? Seen some good reports about it.

i have this flash kit its been very good and reliable , the only issue i have had is trying to trigger it in strong sunlight , however im sure this is down to user error and using the wrong setting not anything the flash has done .

Nice set graham ,is that the one at Bridlington , the best and cheapest I have ever been to is the one at Chester cathedral it’s a £5 all day with mini flying displays throughout the day and in nice weather the birds are out on perches in the open

Yes, Bridlington. Excellent presentation and flying and very friendly staff.

Now I need a new bag, I had all my MFT stuff in one of those messenger bags with the padded insert. The front pockets don't have closures on them so I lost two spare batteries

Just received a 25mm f/1.2 Pro I bought in the classifieds, had a little play and all I can say is WOW, was starting to get a bit narked with the noise on indoor / low light shots but now very happy indeed, well worth the investment if you shoot indoors.

This lens has i'm 99% sure, stopped me from jumping back to Fuji.

Nice lens that for sure, but not one i'd be splurging on anytime soon. A little noise doesn't bother me, I find the 1.7 lenses sufficiently bright enough, otherwise I'm using bounced off cam-flash.
