One of my neighbours works at the nearest petrol station to me and asked me if I'd heard what had happened to ***** (name left blank for reasons which will become apparent)

I said that I hadn't. Basically he'd had his windows put through a few days before Xmas. I put it down to the local chav fraternity, but no... he'd asked some lad from the next street over to pose naked for him. Now, I don't know how old the lad was or anything, but the authorities were alerted and the police found almost 1000 images of naked children on his computer.

The guy has always been as nice as you could wish for, and him and me have 'shot the breeze' quite a few times before now. Seemingly, the perfect neighbour. Never again. Anyone that knows me (either from here or from the car forum that a few of us also frequent) will know that I will do anything for my kids, and that obviously means protecting them from scum more than other parents might, but for f**** sake! And because there was no 'fiddling' involved, he only got 5 f***ing months!!!

It just goes to show that you can't trust anyone these days. I feel sick.
 
I can understand your shock and concern considering its so close to home, I dont want to turn your thread into a rant, but I have no sympathy for their type and only hope he gets what he deserves. 5 months isnt a long time for anything, never mind damaging and destroying lives like these creeps do.
 
I'm absolutely shocked, and my head is chocka full of stuff like 'I pity his wife. Hang on, maybe she knew' blah blah blah. I've even been in his living room - lovely decor, no TV, but plenty of books, all neatly stacked away, and him sat there saying he was a Christian. His son is a paramedic, so you got one bloke potentially destroying lives while his son saves others'. I don't get it.

And what makes it worse is the fact that he seemed ok when all along he was a nonce. And I'm sickened by my own judgement (or lack thereof)

Thankfully, there were no 'physical' victims, but there's always that thought, you know...

Not good.
 
Dont bother to try and understand - remember theres no such thing as good and evil, everyone has good and bad traits to their character. Unfortunately some people have a more extreme variety, his personality being very likeable would no doubt add to peoples perception of his innocence.
I agree his family will no doubt be suffering aswell, its definately a complicated issue.
The worst thing for yourself and your family is you will no doubt be alot less trusting of people.
 
I think people like that should be given suspended sentences......they should be susupended by the neck until dead!

I see you're from Berkshire. - which part? I used to live in Reading and before that Langley......and still have family there.

I agree - they should be hung by the necks and have their balls cut off while they're still twitching.

I'm in Reading as well - just south of the center. How long ago did you live here?
 
I just don't understand how anyone can find anything remotely sexually attractive in a little kid, but there are thousands out there like this guy. :censored:
 
I agree, Cedric. What happened to letting a child have a childhood?

I hope the guy ups sticks a moves when he gets out - if I move me and the kids, you apparently never know who's just around the corner...

And that my friend, is a bloody scary thought. To think we have so many people like this living in our communities, it's a wonder it's not a more common item in the news.

Sickening, truly sickening. Like CT, I fail to see how anyone can find a kid sexuall y attractive.

I actually took a contract in a large computer firm about 9 years ago, at short notice, to find out I replaced a permie who was the 1st person to be done in UK for having child porn on PC !! I felt sorry for the daughter who also worked at same firm & had to collect his stuff....poor girl.

Same thing though...the people who worked with him had no idea, other than being a bit quiet.

I lived in Caversham from about 1994 to the end of 2000 when I moved to South Africa.......... I love it here and only wish I'd made the move earlier....
 
UGH! I hate when I hear about stuff like that. Gawd! Just reminds me of what kind of sick world we really do live in!!! They should all be hung. I don't believe it's a 'sexual' thing though. It's a control thing I think. As a parent, your heart just breaks when you hear stuff like this. :(

There are blokes here laughing but too scared to admit they thought it funny.
We laugh at the horror in life because if we did not we'd all be insane by now at the sickness and depravity that goes on.

My brother-in-Law is a prison officer and I sleep soundly at night with the knowledge that when people like this are caught, it's only the beginning of their own personal horror.
 
I agree, hang em, no questions asked, or 20 minutes in a room with the kids parents. I beleive a theif, murderer, even maybe a rapist can be rehabilitated, but a p**** no.
 
A friend of the wife who lives in another part of the country lived next door to a teacher at the local school. He was raided and they found around 70 pictures of this friends children, taken from his bedroom window whilst the kids played in the paddling pool in the garden. The kids were only young, around 7 or 8.

Terrible thing to be faced with but not only has it destroyed his life (which it should) but also that of his wife and kids. Like others have posted, it's incomprehensible, but it goes on.
 
While not trying to trivialise the seriousness of this type of depravity, I remember an event that just shows what can happen when mob rule prevails. A few years back when all the newspapers seemed to have 'p***' stories on all their front pages, there was a lady pediatrician who needed protection after children had painted "p***" on her house!

That is just the lowest of the low. More and more of these are slipping through the net. Teachers should be in loco parentis - basically substitute parents during the school day, and as parents we need to be able to trust the school staff.

What would the General Medical Council do if a doctor had been caught fiddling with patients, other than strike them off so they couldn't work again?

So why are we getting so many issues these days where known kiddie fiddlers are being allowed into schools to teach what ought to be seen as their potential victims?

Its sickening, cant add more to what everybody else has already said, hopefully this education secretary will actually go through with what she has said, and ban them from teaching or working at schools, hopefully ! Although that will only work for the known ones !

I wont even start on what i think should happen to them !
