I covered a gig at the Kings Arms in Salford over the weekend. The band are from the London and Norwich area, they travel around here and there playing gigs at small venues in various towns and cities. They usually ask me to cover the gigs for them and each venue has it's own problems/solutions with regards to lighting. This pub had a function room upstairs and was a pretty decent area to be honest, most of the time, it's a struggle and I do end up using speedlites. There wasn't anything creative in the way of stage lights, so before the band went on, I had a walk around and noticed the stage lights looked better from the stage as oppose to the audience view. So, I asked the singer to stand for me whilst I took this shot during soundcheck. I wanted to use the stage lights to get a rim light around his hat. Anyway, here is the image.
