Love this set - the third one especially. Really get a feel for what incredible animals they are (as opposed to annoying beer garden spoilers as they land on your sandwich!). Superb colours too.

Good detail Mike.

They have lovely colours but I find them very difficult to illuminate so as to get the colours coming out evenly, which I would prefer. I tend to underexpose these by quite a lot to avoid patches that are blown to white, but even then there is typically still a brighter area (presumably with one (or two?) channels overloaded) where the colour turns somewhat yellowish, like in the areas outside of the blown areas on these. Pretty subjects, but tricky.

The DoF falls a bit awkwardly in #2 perhaps.

It's tricky, the ideal is subtle highlights while still maintaining the irridesence. I get too caught up in trying to nail the focus that I sometimes forget to tweak my flash/exposure settings to compensate.
