This photo was taken with my Ixus 900ti.
i isolated it from the originol in cs2 and removed the background.
Any c&c would be welcome, as i was a bit dubious about
posting with all the excellent photo,s on here.

Not bad at all for a compact camera!

The picture looks a bit light overall (have you checked your monitor calibration?) so I've darkened it a bit...

I also sharpened it a bit which has made the cut out edges look worse.
Your version may be nearer the real thing but only you would know that

Thanks for the comments Rob , the colour is just about right , as the original.
I am afraid i have not calibrated using state of th art programs. This is more or less as i managed to adjust in photo shop. I must really start using the 350d and stop playing with the ixus 900ti.
Also i mi9ght get proper calibration stuff.

If you try again it might be worth using a black cloth as a background. Not sure white is the best choice here. Editing the background out without it being obvious is not easy.

Youve done quite a good job on cutting out the background (Im absolutely rubbish at it myself), but I agree with Robert, I'm not sure white is the best choice here.

With a plain background, it makes the image look a little too much two-dimensional I think.

I really do like the uniformity and symmetry of the image though

Thanks Rob, Practice makes perfect eh.
Will keep at it and you never know i might get lucky one day.
