Oh my thats a cutie. Can't say I'm a mad pet person really but this past year I have took a few photos of dogs.Really enjoyed it. They make great subjects.

Had GSD`s for many years, but don`t you just hate it when Joe Public and his wife calls them Alsatians :punch:!!!!
 
Thats a very cute looking puppy. All keepers but for me the second one stands out.

Please delete these shots and don't post any more. I'm worried that Mrs Nod might see them and decide she wants a GSD pup! Lovely model caught well, hope you enjoy many years together.
 
What a beautiful puppy, mabe breed a couple of litters when she gets older. Nothing more exciting than seeing puppies born .We used to own Afghan Hounds "er indoors" choice

Little story

we have been and owned dogs since 1974 and had boarding kennels for 21 years before we retired. never had a single problem with female GSD'S The males in the end we would not board unless came to use very young and got to accept us.

WE had one HUGE male board from a puppy (named BOSS) and for several times a year from then on.


He was one That stood out from a lot of other breeds boarding with us

He was about 14 weeks old on its first tryout stay and even then started to show its teeth. What I did was just sat ouside the kennel door and talked to him of what must have been an hour. Boss started to get used to me and so I went inside the kennel against the door with BOSS the other end still showing teeth. It took about another 30 minute before he approached me and had a sniff.

Boss suddenly accepted me and I could play anything with him, he was that big he could put his front paws on my shoulders and look me face to face. Even his owners often would not get out of the car to bring him to the kennels, as soon as he saw me well his attutude lite up is the easiest way to say. Needless to say I loved that dog to bits and would have had him in a flash if the owners wanted to part with him

He was a pub guard dog and played with beer barrels and car tyres , size wise about half as big again as a normal GSD.

Male GSD'S tend to become attached to one person at around 18 months old or younger, they are very much a one person dog we found

And that's a good reason to breed a couple of litters that will possibly end up in rescue ...........................I don't think so :banghead:

I was owned by and lived with a huge male GSD for 12 years, never had a days problem with him, and he came from rescue at 4 months old
Took a lot of work to socialise him at first, but once that was done you couldn't have wished for a more friendly loyal dog.
A lot of it is down to how that are bought up, as for being one man dogs I would disagree with that as well, all the GSD's I have
owned have been family loyal dogs not one person.

Had to show these to Mrs Nod - it would have been a cruel and unusual punishment to have withheld them! However, the boss (Maisie the cat!) has the final say and has a marked dislike on anything with 4 legs that she can't kill and eat...

When I had my shepherds I once had someone try and tell me that the long haired variety were German Shepherds and the short haired were Alsatians :banghead:

Yrs it bugs me too when people call the Alsatians :(
 
Great pics of a great subject. We have had GSDs for the last 30+ years. Always two and sometimes three. The current Mrs Giblets does Working Trials with them. Good to see the ears are fully up. Our youngest has the tips of the ears just flopping over and it looks like they will always be thus. She is nicknamed "Dobby the Housedog"! :ROFLMAO:
 
Stunning GSD, we had one previously, we now have 2 rescue labs, Charlie the Chocolate lab (he was already named) was 18months old when he came to us as a rescue, he is now 7 1/2 and we have tried every thing to stop him eating poo :( (only his own) we just let him crack on with it now ;).

I was once told that German shepherds were called Alsatians during the war due to the German in the breed name :thinking:

Thought it would be too mean to keep these hidden from Mrs Nod. She's smitten! However, SWMBO (the cat!) is less keen - 4 legs is for chasing and eating.

How old was she in the first pics? I'm guessing at 6-8 weeks.

sorry i thought i had added mrs nod to my ignore list, must be those pesky russians interfering again ;):)

yeah she was 8 weeks in the first pic, i think she is about 13 weeks now.
