weekly -OY-'s Weekly 52 thingie for 2018 - Week 52 : Showcase (Complete)

One can see a good match between them engines, I like reflections in the windows.

Low - lovely shot. Again - I like the reflection, but truth be told, I like the sea, so most photos on the topic are great to me :).
Beautiful - does have that natural feel to it and deffo tells the story.

Good matching pair of locomotives excellent symmetry too

Thanks :)

As Allan said, Great symmetry. And nice colours and details.

Thanks too :)

The engines are nicely framed and a good match

Thanks - there were fours of them together!

Good symmetry, good detail, good idea. (y)

Ta muchly :)

Good loco match with good colours.

Thank you.

I shot a few more tales on "Match" - I'll post some.

Unattractive - a well taken image not sure that I can add any more to that.
Shadow - I love it doesn't fee like a shoehorn to me either, a breath taking place.
Beautiful - not much i can say thats not been said already, a beautiful capture.
Low - a corker of a image, good colours and reflections and a bright blue sky as well.
Match - works for me good detail, not to sure if the image is level, ( but I am tired so could be my mind overthinking )

Quite reminiscent of my 2015 Connected shot (except mine were a couple of SWT 456s at Chessington), so you'll get no complaints from me about a pair of EWS sheds. Nicely done, they fill the frame well.

Thanks folks :)

Here's another for MATCH - Two Trees One Hill - Oxford.

Haworth 1940s Weekend

Not a fan of re-enactment events, but bang on theme and that’s all that counts

Ta :)

Nice and sharp. Like the bright vivid colours. On theme. Was it possible to have moved round slightly so the hunting wasnt over her head. That would be my only slight criticism.

No - this was the only angle that the mic wasn’t in front of her face or the big modern speakers weren’t in the background.

Great photo, liking the colours and the 40s vibe!

Love it ... shiny old mike and erm ...eccentricity.

Spot on for me, says it all in a single shot, good DoF, nice and colourful

Music

That's covered the theme well, a good portrait and nice colours.

Dave

Low, what a bueatiful Image Dave, Love the colours and saturation with a nice reflection in some of the puddles, lots of details on the boat and all in Focus.

Match, Another nice Image, plenty of detail and colour, pity they were not polished to make them stand out more.
Two Trees, another nice Image Dave

Music, well captured Image, lots of details and colours, all that needs to be sharp is.

Hard - Nice one. The b+w conversion suits the image too. Great detail. Though i do find the big circular buffer(?) slightly distracting.

Thanks :)

I like the buffer as it makes it clear exactly what he's doing. Coupling a locomotive to it's train :)

Well ween for the theme with a good mono conversion and good light to draw the eye to the guy under the train.

He looks trapped in there excellent shot for the theme

Thanks Allan :)

Bang on theme for hard Dave, and agree it does suit B&W.

Cheers - yes the mono was the way to go. That big OLEO thing in the foreground was bright red which kinda killed the shot in colour.

Well ween for the theme with a good mono conversion and good light to draw the eye to the guy under the train.

Thanks - that's what I was looking for as he moved about under there.

Dave, reaaly nice Image, well on theme, nice contrast and plenty of detail. His expression says it all.

Pete

Match - Nicely seen well balanced image works for me.

Music - Great image for the theme shame about the background but not a lot you could do about that!

Hard(at work) - Great image nice composition really like it

Nice idea and he sure is hard at work.

Sure is - and he has to do it twice - every 45min.

Dave, reaaly nice Image, well on theme, nice contrast and plenty of detail. His expression says it all.

Pete

I think his expression says "Not another bloody photographer!" :)

... looks heavy going. (y)

It's a tight squeeze under there that's for sure.

Ta for both :)

Week 22 : Creatures

Dad Ferry at Castle Howard on Saturday. With an escort of Damselflies :)

hard - great photo, well composed and great processing. It took me a while to spot the hard working man in all that trainy stuff!
creatures - Lovely!

Hey Dave,

Hard - The harsh mono processing suits it. What are they coupling the mk1 up to?
Creatures - That's a cute shot, I love the action you've caught, it tells a story. The reflections are surprisingly clear too, considering teh swan is moving.

The Mk1 is joining D1501 - an old Sulzer Class 47 (47402)

Hi Dave

Creatures, Swans are nice creatures (as long as you don't get too close) and the 4 fuffy cynets add to the appeal of the Image. Like the green reflection in the water.

Pete
