weekly -OY-'s Weekly 52 thingie for 2018 - Week 52 : Showcase (Complete)

Ah, a good old Brush Four. I did quite a few miles behind 47 579 (James Nightall G.C.) at the weekend.

Here she is...

Swan shot's a beaut. I'm guessing you may have used a filter (?)

Hey Dave,

Hard - The harsh mono processing suits it. What are they coupling the mk1 up to?
Creatures - That's a cute shot, I love the action you've caught, it tells a story. The reflections are surprisingly clear too, considering teh swan is moving.

As Tim says, I like that the man isnt easy to spot, and the Swan shot is bloody marvellous, well done.

Ta both :)

Week 23 : Synthetic.

PANTS!

That is fantastic. Loving the briefcase and brolly which go soo well with his outfit.
I must turn up at work in something like that when we move to the posh new offices ;)

An excellent find and capture Dave (y)

Creatures - Great swan shot.

Synthetic - Not sure I'd want to get into those threads on a warm day like that..... He does look like a character though.

Ta :)

He sure does :)

Excellent find for synthetic, in so many ways, must be photo of the week.

I've enjoyed catching up again, Dave (y)

Match - unusual find for this theme and they definitely look like they match to me. Good symmetry too. I also like your second image for this theme very much, with the low perspective and the strong colours.
Music - good bold colours, great expression, and you're quite close to her as well, which adds to the impact (y)
Hard - another good choice for the theme, with your subject surrounded by hard industrial metal parts. The B&W conversion adds a sense of a gritty environment, too.
Creatures - really nice! A cute family group, lovely reflections and a bonus flying escort too.
Synthetic - I agree with the comments above; a great character, colourful, a strong shadow and lots to look at throughout the scene

Hi Dave

Synthectic, As others have said an interesting chap you found there. Very colourful and he appears to be on a mission.

Pete

Thanks for all the comments folks :)

Really excellent poppy photo with the wheat around it, spot on and seasonal to-boot (y).

I can only agree with the above comments bloody good idea poppies though :D

Hmm, yes, I think I've decided. The rural shots working the best seem to have to have red in them.
Works nicely for me.

Red - I'm a big fan of the blob of red :)

Aye - wonder where I got the idea? :)

A lovely image ... clean & fresh

Cheers

Nice one, Dave. Love it, the single red flower contrasting against the green background.

Ta muchly

Synthetic
Well that's not something you see everyday.

Rural
Very similar to my effort (whenever I get around to posting)

Smashing shot, Dave (y) Strong and contrasting colours, sharp close-up details and textures, and spot on for the theme!

Thanks - look forward to seeing it.

Rural and red poppy is a good shot Dave, poppy is good and sharp with the oof BG to really bring the viewers eyes of the poppy.

Cheers :)

Starburst ... very good.

Flowers .. all a bit OOF.

EDIT ... or is sharpness a bourgeois concept? Tis nice & bright down there. :)

Bright
The first photo does the job for me. It's a good pov and I really like the colourful flowers at the bottom, with the clear blue sky above.

Two good take, I think I prefer the Goldwing, lots of brightwork

Hi Dave.
Very starbursty, both of them.
I like the starburst and how the metal frame points at it in the first, the starburst reflection on the GL1500 shows how cared for the bike is.
One of the few bikes with a reverse gear that!
