Peak District Red

It's a bit early for the Red Deer rut, but the males have started to split up and look for females. I found this fella on the moors in the Peak District with a large group of hinds (I'm not sure he's big enough to keep them though!) in a fairly exposed area, making for a tricky approach...

Both taken with the Fuji X-H1 and 100-400 handheld.

I could easily go to a couple of different deer parks as close to home as the moors, but they don't hold much interest for me to be honest. I much prefer the challenge of trying to get close to the wild ones, although it doesn't produce as many decent shots, the ones I do get and the experience mean that much more to me.
