Week 24 - Small

Small skipper by Philip Stanley, on Flickr

Went for a walk in the Yorkshire Wolds - quite a number of butterflies around but most of them too flighty to get a shot. Also managed a gatekeeper.

Well done for catching those images! I can never seem to get close to them. The colours are great and you've controlled the harsh light very well.

Week 25 - Snapper's choice

Taken on a walk from Malham to the tarn and then back via the cove. It was good to see peregrine falcons wheeling and diving around the cliff face - one luckily landed nearby

And a cracking falcon.

I don't really feel qualified to comment on these as I don't bird of landscape, but I think of the two, the bird for me as it has the more stand out subject.

I have no idea where Malham is but the location looks like an interesting place for sunrise/sunset shots.

Thanks. I think it's algae growing on vermiculite on the potting compost surface.
