Hi All,

Wondered if anyone could give me a bit of feedback on a few pictures ive took over the weekend? Ive created an instagram page called abandonedbritain and aim to explore abandoned places and snap anything else that catches my interest on the way, i didnt actually manage to get into any buildings but have a few in mind for the future! I have only had the camera since xmas so im very much an amateur but im enjoying it so far! So any feedback, tip/techniques will be much appreciated!

Thanks!

I can't give much constructive criticism as I'm still learning myself but image #3 and #5 are my favourites from the set.

with something like the third one, it's all about geometry and symmetry. Problem is, you've used a slightly short focal length lens so the squares of the pylon have been distorted slightly. Also, you're not exactly under the centre of the mast, so things are slightly offset. Still - a bit of work in photoshop, cropping, and correcting the barrel distortion and it's a little better...

Thanks for the feedback, the orientation being off has been annoying me, your touched up version is much better!

no worries... I actually spent 4 months of my life working as a pylon-painter, re-finishing those damned things, so I've spent more time than I care to remember under there, looking up like that... Scary part is, you're actually working on one side of the tower, while the other side is still live at 132kv !
