Photographer's rite of passage...........the lone tree (no, not that one)

If it is a rite of passage, then here's my attempt.

It was a very blustery day, so i used a slowish shutter speed to blur the grass in an attempt to focus more attention on the subject.

Love the tree and especially the kink at the bottom of the trunk. Distant hills look good but it's a shame the tree is cut in half though.

You're right, Lee and it was the one thing I was concerned about, but couldn't find any increase in height to take the shot from.
Although not perfect, I still thought it was worth a go, though

Good idea, I'll take it with me next time. I don't think I would need to be that high up to make it work, either

There is something about this shot I really like.

I think the tree should be dead in the centre. It's not far off so a little bit of crop should get there quickly. Presuming the image is split tone, and maybe even if it is not, I would adjust the top of the image hues from somewhat cyan to purer blue.
