I pass this on just in case anyone has the same problem.
I upgraded to PS 2020, LR became pedestrian and Camera RAW would not work.My first thought was my onboard graphics were not up to the job and a dedicated graphics card was needed.
With the help of google and a cple of Forums it turns out that Acronis interfers with PS to the extent that it slows down at best and in some cases hardly works ( my poblem with camera raw).
The solution is to add the relevant adobe exe files to the manage section of acronis protection,then it works fine.
