Pic(s) you took today - an open thread

In our tiny garden, we have set up a bird feeder, but I want to do a bit more , this black bird came in about yesterday, actually a pair of them.
But they wont leave the ground and its hard to take a pic of a bird while looking down through the glass.
But it is what it is.

I managed this robin last weekend.

Sadly, none of the beautiful white stuff stuck around long today - it had gone within an hour.

and a random one from yesterday, I was drawn to this little door whilst exploring - St Mary the Virgin at Weeting

Love the shadows pointing towards the door from every direction. The hinges reaching into the door mirror the shadows reaching into the scene beautifully.
Great shot

Love the second pic.
The pony on the right has a bit of a box weave so your more or less guaranteed to get one of him having a sneaky peak out. :)

First one from yesterday, the Harris's Hawk handler/owner.
The rest today, a visit to Stagsden Church on the bend of the village road.
I like the sign in old Saxon, that image shamelessly edited to remove a host of modern signage.
Loving my B&W at the moment, it just seems so much more timeless and engaging, especially on dull days.

Nice set Keith.

Are they long exposure or is there genuinely no one knocking about.

A dull day here today with complete cloud cover.

This reminds me of some Marvin Gaye lyrics "Ain't nothing like the wheel thing baby, oh so glad, ain't nothing like the wheel thing"

Another song inspired picture.... Sick of it all... Step down.

Little Wife kicked me out this morning so that she could do the weekly deep clean. It was -3C so I got wrapped up and took the Lumix S1 for a walk locally.

When taking these SanDisk 128GB SD card failure: Neither storing or erasing possible, and not after reformatting. Luckily, it happened at home.

In future, when going out to take pics, I shall take a spare card with me, and I shall not buy any SanDisk SD cards any more!

Has someone ( New EU rules) sneaked another day into the week ? Just to add more confusion there was another sign which said closed on Mondays ! My mind must be wired differently but the other day I saw a sign saying Slow work force in Road when I realized it was council workers it made full sense :)

I'm guessing they mean booking needed on a week day but I didn't read it like that !

Hi, the last of our Christmas tree before de-decorating :

A female blackbird (SONY A7ii - ZEISS Apo-Sonnar 2/135 f 2 ; crop). She tends to throw sunflower seeds out of the feeder, perhaps she would like to build her nest in there -

The rays of the sun streaming through the trees and the people silhouetted against the tunnel caught my attention. Took this on a short walk while my mum was at the hospital seeing the plastic surgeon after a fall.

Went out with the dog today looking to see if the peregrines had arrived at their nesting place. It was around this time of year when I spotted them last year. They weren't evident so I ambushed an old sign instead then converted the file to an Infra Red effect. I also got rid of a distracting road sign that as spoiling the shot, but stopped short of sawing that tree down that masks the right hand tower. Taken with my Lumix S1 & 24-105 lens.
