A driving aid. I had to scrap my Mercedes E430. It had a star on the hood which helped driving in your lane. When I took over my wife's VW Passat (she bought herself a new one) I missed my star. So, I stuck a coin on the dashboard, which is also reflected in the windscreen, to serve the same purpose.
