Pic(s) you took today - an open thread

Went for a walk this afternoon and deliberately chose to fit the 10-24mm on my Fuji XT2 as it hasn't had much use recently. I had barely got any distance when I saw the scene below
DSCF5168-tp.jpg

And blown up to the max, a pine marten out foraging in broad sunshine! With the usual 18-135 fitted, this could have been a far better photo, but at least I saw it. :)

I visited Wuppertal around 2006-7. Fascinating railway (out of action due to maintainence at the time) and nice people at the Bayer plant.

In the garden. Actually washing the car when this flew by, grabbed the camera from the house. No flash used just shiny leaves.

Large Yellow Underwing, another first for me.

The slow worms that live in our spare compost bin. They've been there for several years but currently there's fewer than previously. There was a grass snake in there as well at one time but he hasn't been seen for a couple of years...

Hi, I went into the Odenwald (Odin's forest, where events described in the Nibelungen saga are said to have happened):

At the SCHMUCKER brewery, a vintage car event was held:

With live music:

Around 11.00 a.m. it got crowded:

So, I had lunch and a SCHMUCKER:

Then, I went home across the Odenwald, and the rain set in:

From my dog walk near Llangollen. 11 year old battered Kodak point and press ( might be time for a new one !)

My mates take the mick out of me for dressing like a farmer but I'm getting rather paranoid when the local sheep come this close ! I even had a dog with me.

and cheating a little because this was from yesterday but I cannot see why anyone would think I look like a farmer !

A lovely, hot, sunny day. I drove over 5 hours, took 260 pics. It was worth it, I think ... ---

Hi, the first young sparrow in my garden this year:

(I always have a camera on a tripod ready on my dining-room table. This one was taken with the Sigma 150-600 on a NIKON D800.)

I found this little fellow sat in the road this evening, and moved him to a quiet track. In retrospect it might have been kinder to leave him to be squashed by a car, since he's more likely to be a starter portion for the next passing carnivore, but at least he *might* have a chance if his parents were still around.

I'm guessing it might be a baby greenfinch, from the yellow-green breast feathers, but don't really know.
