Very cool… I'm so happy you don't listen to your mother!

I love the colours and the sometimes flipped compositions!
Didn't your mother ever told you not to play with fire?

Wow, what a great set of shots, :)

1st one looks like it could be in an alien film

0674 looks like a person crossing there hands

0715 looks like a face

0776 looks like some sort of alien animal - face to the right with it's body behind

Or have I had a long day ??? :D

Cheers, you may well have had a long day, but you're spot on on those, :)

Great set of images Derek, good idea and very creative. My personal fav' would be #1.(y)

George.

The symmetry in some of them is amazing, is this real or has the image been mirrored?

If anyone is interested in how this was done it's fairly easy.
Camera on a tripod , set to manual focus, on burst mode.
I used 100mm macro lens
I had a piece of timber with a 3 mm hole in it to hold the match. Just poked the match in the hole.
No real need to worry about background as it will probably be blacked out, lack of light.
Focus on match head using live view and focus peaking.
Iso, 100-400 usually depending on amount of matches, f 8 or whatever suits
Exp as high as I could go, 1/5000-1/8000
I held a lighter under the match and triggered the shutter. That's it.
Sometimes I taped up to 10 matches together, as in the last shot. I just left 1 match long so the same hole would do.
Wouldn't mind seeing some others shots, if you do give it a go.
Derek

They're rather beautiful.
The 4th looks like an angel.
