Boy, 13, charged over death of hedgehog in Newarthill

The hedgehog was found with multiple stab wounds near Brannock High School in Newarthill.

Why in the F*** would a 13yr old a) be carrying a knife b) want to kill a hedgehog. They're utterly harmless things.

Sadly that's how some young killers start, try on animals then you read about them after they murder a human.

Knives are certaily becoming an issue with todays youth - it seems almost every week someone gets stabbed

Knives are certaily becoming an issue with todays youth

They always have been. I think that knife crime is more of an issue today because it's relatively less common than it was before 1960. In cities like Glasgow and London, carrying a bladed weapon was pretty much standard for many young men. In Glasgow, the favoured weapon was the cuthroat razor, in the erroneous belief that you had to be seen misusing it before you could be arrested.
