We have had a influx of cormorants locally and counted 11 the other day, which means plenty of opportunity for drying wings shots

Marvellous pictures! The cormorant has been one of my favourite birds since I first saw Graculus in Noggin the Nog, nigh on sixty years ago.

Great pictures, Cormorants are born posers (poseurs?).
The jury is still out as to why Cormorants hang their wings out. The traditional explanation is to 'dry their Wings', but an alternative is that they are warming the body up before (or after) swimming in the cold sea.
