Problems with my Canon Pixma Pro 100

I've just tried printing for the first time in ages and the colours and contrast are all wrong. Contrast is far too high, and it looks as though white balance is several thousand kelvin too warm. It doesn't matter if I print from Lightroom or straight from the file on the computer.

I think this is the first time I've tried printing since upgrading to Mac OS Mojave and I've noticed that all the icc colour profiles have changed, and no longer contain the Platinum Pro Plus which I use. Also I can only check ink levels from the driver menu and can no longer clean print heads etc.

Anyone any idea what's going off and how to solve it?

Have you tried printing through Canon DPP to see if that makes any difference which would eliminate it being a printer issue....?
Thanks, what’s dpp?

I don't think using dpp or any other photo software will show a difference compared to lr, your calibration/profiles could be screwed. Try opening a jpg in chrome then printing it. If still incorrect, do a test print to check each colour, perhaps the head is blocked with certain colours, it happens.

Blockages wouldn't explain why the printer utilities were no longer available.
I would give studio pro a try via Lightroom as suggested above, that does at least have all the Canon paper profiles

Tbh on the last print there were some lines on it too, but as above the driver on Mac no longer has utilities to do a print test or alignment etc :( Any idea how to run these now?

Thanks for all the other replies too I’ll try the other options.

I had lots of problems trying to print from the Pro 100... I spent hours on the internet trying to resolve the issue including reinstalling drivers, etc etc. I now use Print Studio Pro via Lightroom and get perfect prints every time. I would try this before you go completely crazy - as I almost did :)

When I have had problems in the past with my Pro100 I have contacted by email Canon UK and they have been very helpful and always given me the right answer to correct the fault.

Thanks, I will try this as I was never 100% happy with the printing process via LR, I had to do a lot of faffing to get the prints to look almost identical to my calibrated screen.

To be fair they've been really helpful so far, but they've now suggested what Twist did and that's to uninstall and reinstall. I will try to do this at some point today.

OK fully uninstalling the driver and all associated files in the Mac library and then reinstalling has solved the issue, thanks for all the help. Colours still aren't a 100% match but I assume most of that is due to my Mac not having a full gamut screen and only a P3 screen.

After a long conversation with a Canon Print Specialist at the Photography Show Last Year, he recommended using Print Studio Pro for all printing with Canon Printers as it communicates with the printer at the lowest driver level. I would suggest you installed it and at least tried it, when installed it appears as a Lightroom Plug In, its very easy to use, and provides various test print tool.

You still print your existing way with LFR so you have nothing to lose.

I have installed it, just not had chance to use it yet (y)
