I have notices recently that my Nikon 24-70mm lens on the D810 the photos seemed slightly of focus. Maybe because after it was dropped by me the repair altered it a bit.
So this evening I got out my Spyderlenscal and set up to recalibrate the camera to the lens.
With the camera on a tripod and a wired remote shutter release and the target set up I took a few test shots. it seems the camera/lens was out by 2 bars in the camera fine tune.
Now with it recalibrated time for a couple of test shots.
Best is to test against brickwork as below (unedited) handheld. Photos taken from Raw files changed to Jpeg to show here
well that certainly looks sharper
so what about a flower
Now the colour red was always a struggle on the D800, until I had it repaired after the drop. No probs with the D810
But what about on this Nikon D810 (again unedited)and hand held
Not too bad, doing the fine tune calibration seems to have made an improvement. Well at least i think it has although the rose was too close to get it clearer
