I'd overlooked this one after my outing a couple of months ago. It's not the best image of a red squirrel ever taken but it is one of the better ones from that outing.

Yep, 7D, and in quite poor light with a 300L f4, so the odds were against me. I'm tempted to try my Fuji next time, as I have a 50-230 for that and the squirrels come quite close at times.

Title is intentional, that's what they are called in my 5 year olds world.

The greys are often known as squiggles in places I lurk so I reckon your 5y/o is close enough. OTOH they're also known as targets by the same people......

Thanks Jonathan. I have actually shot a few greys in my time but debate to one side, I'd rather take photos of them these days than shoot them.
