Im looking at buying the RSF284 but dont know what head to put on it I shoot mainly self portraits when fishing, wildlife again when out fishing and landscapes.

Would someone in the no please advise which head would suit me or explain what the different one do.

    Many thanks

Earlier today I called on Joe at Redsnapper in Banbury, with the intention of purchasing a RSF284 tripod + RSH12 ballhead.

I found Joe very easy to deal with and also very knowledgeable on his product.
I must say the RSH284 is a very stable platform and a well engineered product along with a superb carry case.
The RSH12 Ballhead is also a superb product. Though this does not fit into the carry case.
I was very pleased with the quality of both products.
I have had a play with it since I arrived home and am well pleased. Tomorrow I intend to give it a try out in anger to give it a real test.
If any of you are having doubts as to the product and Redsnapper as a company, don’t. I can vouch for both.

    Hi Joe

I have PM'd you regarding my tripod which has broke the same place as last time, only used three of four times since your repair and only with a Fuji X10.

I'd be grateful if you could get back to me please?

    Regards.

I called on Joe on Monday, rang him first to tell him I was on my way. He did say that he was very busy with business, and had very little time to visit TP.

So would recommend you ring him.

Been using mine for a month or so now, brilliant product. I have the 284 with rh-12 ball and cheaper pan heads, all very well made and solid and I can just about cram the lot into the provided carry case as well :)

Rang him yesterday and a guy said he was in a meeting and he would get him to phone me back....Still waiting. Guess I'll have to try again today.

One of the catches on a leg has snapped off (again), when I sent it back to Joe I did mention it could be a design fault as that particular leg is floppy, even when tightened, hopefully he'll replace the whole tripod this time.

Update.. joe just rang and was very helpful, he's going to take a good look at said leg and if it looks dodgy he'll send me a new tripod, so I'm happy.

    Cheers Joe.

    Anyone help me here

Bought a RS-324 tripod used off here and a Giottos ballhead which is too much for my needs, was thinking of getting the Redsnapper RSH-12 ballhead but is the quick release platform on it Kirk/Arca Swiss plate compatible so it will fit the plate/tripod foot on my Nikon 70-200mm and a Kirk L Bracket

    Thanks

    tripod arrived this morning :D

probably a stupid question, but how do I change the long centre column for the supplied shorter column?

must also say...quality is excellent, and didn't realise that one leg unscrews to become a monopod..added bonus!

At the bottom of the centre column is a hook, unscrew it, then pull the centre column out through the top.

reverse the process with the smaller column.

looking to order one of these very soon, just not sure which head to go for.

If im not doing any videos will the ball head be more versatile ?

one last question, does the rsf284 with the rsh61 ball head fit inside the carry case ?

Has anyone ordered from them recently? I can't see anywhere to put the discount code and the email I sent bounced back.

Joe last visited here in August 2016 so it may be that he's no longer trading. There is a phone number on the web site if you want to give it a try though.
