In the second shot I feel there are too many distracting elements in the background and a tighter crop may help. The 1st is a very good image and with some decent light could be a winner.

The sun shoul of been popping up just to the left out of shot but the clouds stopped that.
The 2nd image I thought about a tighter crop

As a subject none of these work for very long exposures - water is better when textured or reflecting. The exposure length has flattened the water. Neither subject nor the conditions appeal but you have the exposure worked out in a technical sense - now you just need to find an engaging subject to try your new skill. I often reckon the Kelpies with a grey moving sky would make a great candidate for the B&W long exposure treatment.

I have just bought a remote control to take longer exposures, smoothing of the water is what I’m after (I really like those pics by pros) I’m not over the moon with these pics the clouds ruined the session for me lol
Really enjoying learning new things tho
