Hi all,

I'm shooting a rugby match tomorrow, covering for somebody while they're away for the weekend.

Any tips appreciated as I'm not a rugby fan. Never played it and never watched it! But I think I'm going to sit behind the try zone for a while and hopefully get some diving tries.

What should/shouldn't I do?

Appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Wez

Hi. Local rugby, a lot of snappers walk up and down the side line following the action, but if you do that keep your eye on the game and do not get crashed into as they fly off the pitch. My experience is usually see if you can find out which team is most likely to score, before camping at one end, otherwise you may have not a lot to do! I find the teams tend to play in clumps, not spread out like the top teams.

Hi Carol, thank you for your reply.

I did spend friday evening trawling through all of the various threads on this forum regarding shooting rugby :)

First half I moved around a little bit following play and picked a few spots to shoot from in the second half. I actually enjoyed it and would definitely do it again :)

These were a few of my faves :-

Nice shots, Wez. Rugger players aren't as glamorous as the footie players!
