A black and white conversion of a shot from a trip to Minster lovell Hall, Oxfordshire late evening yesterday. I had an idea in my head of a gothicy/spooky type shot through the winter trees with the reflection in the pond but without being to heavy on the processing and loosing detail, though i'm not sure i pulled it off. Are there any ways in which the image could be improved or changed

I really like this Paul.

It might be an optical illusion but it looks like it's leaning to the left ever so slightly. I love the way the tree branches are obscuring the view, almost acting like a barrier to stop you getting close. For me, your processing is spot on. The temptation to hammer the contrast or clarity slider for more "grit" would kill the spookiness to it.

Reminded me very much of (my favourite photographer) Sir Simon Marsden's work from the thumbnail. And whilst the processing is very different viewed large, the subject matter is very similar.

(y) from me :)
