Rural Traffic Woes

Our urban friends are no strangers to traffic chaos but have the quaint notion that we're immune to it here in rural England. Of course, though we've got fewer vehicles, we have much less road to put them on.

When things need fixing, therefor, we get as snarled up as the North Circular or the M25, though we do have prettier views to look at while we wait. The best way to see this sort of thing is from the top deck of a bus, with the pleasure of knowing someone else is doing the driving. The only problem is that the big built in filters, known in the trade as "windows", are seldom all that clean, so you don't always get a clear image...

The other advantage of being on the top deck is that you get a good view of what's causing all the trouble, in this case, some of our beautiful power lines, which we don't hide away like townies do...

Road works we should be all used to them by now.:eek:
