I took an other group of 14 beginners on a B&W image hunting,
this time at a scrapyard. Sure, the tasks were clearly explained…
  • forget the colours, today they are irrelevant
  • concentrate on composition only
  • pay attention to where the Sun comes from
  • work your shot, turn around the subjects, change to lower
    or higher PoV
  • etc.
The variety of cameras went from cell phones to DX and everything
in between. These were my takes…

I think that is a great idea for starters, did they enjoy the task?

It is a good place to start… lost of shapes, total chaos,
and nothing is moving. They were quite puzzled by the
choice of location but they had a good time.

Sure, the scrapyard is a private property… but they know
me and I make sure no one is exposed to the day to day
dangers in such a place or disturb the workers,
