Seeing in the dark!

On Sunday, the last race of the day at Knockhill started late and it was about 6:15pm when it finished. There had been thick cloud and drizzle all day, so lighting conditions were very poor.

Your eyes obviously adjust for the falling light levels, so it doesn't seem quite so dark, but looking through the viewfinder, it was very dark indeed for cars that didn't have headlights! I was amazed that the camera not only locked onto the subject, but it was able to track it as it approached me.

I had auto ISO enabled, and this image was taken at ISO 25600!

When pulled into Lightroom, the original RAW image was very noisy, but applying noise reduction at about 75% gives an almost usable image for social media use.

The below image is what it looked like through the viewfinder - very dark indeed!
