Back to the Shinty, and this time with a new setup. Managed to get my grubby mits on a D500 and Sigma 150-600 sport from a family friend, who was selling. He was gracious enough to let me try before I buy knowing full well I would get sucked down that rabbit hole......well played old man, well played. Having only used Sony since I started, I was a bit overwhelmed by the number of options available for customisation, further reading/viewing of videos needs to be done.

As for that lens, that thing is heavy, even with a monopod I felt the strain afterwards.

Nice images, the 150-600 looks interesting and the reach is good, obviously the background isolation isn't on the same level as the 2.8s.

Also, people play without helmets?!

No1 is great a 50/50 challenge

When I pro/conned the lens I was more than happy with the trade off between range and background isolation. I figure I'll be using that lens at the further end of it's range and then swap over to the Sony which has a 70-200 F2.8 attached for closer shots.

As for the helmets, more are starting to wear them, especially the younger guys. However a few I know hate wearing them as they claim it affects peripheral vision, they are also not the brightest but I'm sure there is no connection there.

Thanks, shame both players missed the ball.
