Are those ladders meant to stay on (No4)? Great pin sharp photos. Wish mine were half as good as those.

Yeah. The Lysander was used in WW2 to drop and recover agents behind enemy lines, often on unprepared strips. The crew ladder was to expedite access to the rear cockpit.
