Have never seen so many photographers trackside, won't mention the two that asked for help on how to shoot moving cars, one with a nikon point n shoot [shakes head]
Anyway, despite Friday's washout Saturday was a great day, even had some sunshine - had 27 drops of rain around 3 o'clock, I counted them all. Tried a new set up for using the 200-400 all day which included a monopod, pouch for a belt (used separate wide cloth belt which stopped it digging into my side's and kept my trousers up) and the ProMedia Tomahawk head which is a godsend, just started to get a little back ache after 8 hours - to be fair I could have taken the set up off every now and then for a break.
The photo's: just a small random selection as I had way more keepers than I expected. 1DX, Canon 200-400 with built in extender.
#1 1/500, f/6.3, iso 160, 560mm Grinning through the heat haze
#2 1/60, f/16, iso 100, 400mm Looks awesome full screen, not cropped
#3 1/200, f/7.1, iso 100, 200mm Proper race cars making proper noise!
#4 1/320, f/7.1, iso 100, 540mm Being at the front has it's advantages
Seriously - had a hard time picking any favourites, feel free to check the gallery out and see if you prefer anything different. HERE
Thanks for looking
