Critique Skinningrove Beach sunset

Not the most photogenic beach, but its away from the newly released masses who would be at nearby Saltburn, Staithes etc. Critique welcome.

I think you could have had something worthwhile if you'd gone to that bit of beach in the distance and tried some simpler images. As it is here the brown/grassy area isn't attractive and the pier is leading your eyes away from the interesting part of the clouds and their reflected colour. When conditions are like this you don't need to look for a classic composition as such, you can let the colour and the clouds do the work mixed with some creative shutter speeds if that's your thing.
