So I was out with Jeff the other day after the snow buntings, and there was a pair showing well. I kept seeing a third bird close by, and actually pointed Jeff in its direction at one point - and just assumed it was another snow bunting and didn't pay it any attention as I was concentrating on the pair. We were walking back to the cars when I saw a sign for the reserve with a skylark on it so I asked Jeff if they hung around there - and was told in typical Black Fox fashion that the 3rd bird was actually a skylark not a bunting

We gave another site a quick try with no luck so I went back and guess what I found this time...

I love skylarks, I remember hill walks as a boy and they seemed to be everywhere.

Lovely images, the 2nd one in particular.

Wonderful images. The detail is outstanding..as ever from your good-self, Mike

Fab shots!

Odd, I thought I had commented on these  lovely low POV and great detail in the feathers, nicely done.

Great shots not easy to get close to
