Got a few more shots of skylarks yesterday and had the opportunity to shoot from flat on the ground to completely diffuse the background

Would love to see one of these on the ground, a bush, or anywhere apart from hearing them in the sky!
Lovely capture showing him off well and that little bit of heather (?) sets it off nicely :)

In this field, which overlooks the cliffs, there are a fair few pairs nesting so plenty of opportunity for shots if you wait around a bit

Getting down low has paid off on this one Stan, nice bit of habitat and great eye contact add up to a lovely image of a hard to get close too bird (y)
 
That's a lovely capture. I suspect a lot of patience went into that shot.
 
That's a lovely shot, similar to mine but executed so much better.
 
Very nice - lucky man - no seen one for year - either up in the air or down on the ground
