Plenty of skylarks feeding in the meadow at Hengistbury Head on Friday but can be difficult to spot them as the grass has grown quite long
Shot with my 300f4 and 1.4x

Lovely alert pose in #1, only ever hear these :)
 
The Skylark for all its muted colouring is a fine looking bird.

this field is quite a hot spot for them, although its patience and a bit of luck for them to be close enough for some shots

Great capture. I'm lucky enough to see skylarks often but never have I been lucky enough to photograph one. Congrats.
 
I really like the second Stan, you've got a great pose on that one. For me, the WB needs adjusting slightly, there is green / yellow cast on the bird. I used the pipette tool in LR around the neutral breast and boosted the lacks very slightly
