I have wanted a manual focus portrait lens for a while. I do like the results from the XF35 and XF60 on the XPro1, but I don't like the way these lenses focus manually. So I have been on the hunt for a legacy lens that would be able to give me images that are sharp enough but with a smooth transition to the oof areas. A Rollei 50mm f1.8 HFT Plannar arrived today, so I gave it a quick go! Pressed my daughter into service for some available light pics. Please excuse the framing, at 75mm it was hard to get far enough away to frame properly. What do you think of the skin tones and overall rendering? These are fairly simple conversions.
