Some dragonfly shots from yesterday.

These don't have any technical merit, I was using the wrong focus settings on my lens, but I thought the interaction with the water was interesting. Could someone ID this dragonfly please, they are both of the same insect.

IMO a good showing of something I have yet to see on still imagery. Video of their behaviour does sometimes show the tail dipping.

Black-tailed skimmer me thinks. I'd say it was a female egg-laying. I was watching the exact same thing myself yesterday although unfortunately i didn't have my camera with me!
