Yes
I took my camera out the other day, after a LONG time (almost a year!). Not quite on par with what I've seen here but I'd like to share nonetheless.

Some cracking poses of the kids and fab expressions (y) but Im not sure about the processing, it seems different for each image and the 2nd image, theres just something <wrong> with it, the hair and skin looks "odd"(?) - cant put my finger on. Other than that, I'd love to see the originals with just basic processing as I think they would beat these hands-down. Im not going to say anything about the backgrounds as these are obviously candid shots and they have to be with kids, you never know when they're going to do a bit of posing in front of the camera - processing aside - I love these :)

Thanks for the pointers Carl. The processing is what made the hair look odd in the #2 and #3. I wanted a different look for the #4, though I realise it means they're not cohesive. I sometimes want to try things out but I'm never sure if they work. As for the backgrounds...fairly busy in the kitchen/sitting room so it was difficult to get a clear background. Here are the originals with basic processing.

Yep, that's more like it!

Number three is just a brilliant moment. If this was cropped or edited to remove shoes and background distractions it's a great capture
At the moment my eye is drawn to the bright background, then the shoe rack, then a beauty of an expression. Such a cool wee fella it's worth a bit work

I think the reposted versions are far better than the original versions you posted. Far more honest and reflects the simplicity of the scene. Sure - the shoe rack in no. 3 is distracting but if you cropped it out the image would be non-descript and a little pointless.

Thank you for the honesty. Yes the background is rather unfortunate. It's difficult to get a clear background!.
Bruce I probably can remove the distractions but I'll admit that's not a strong point of mine.

Great shots - you have caught the expressions very well! I agree with the the comments re the distractions - perhaps a slightly tighter crop - and a bit of blur may lift them a little more? No. three is super.....but you wont be thanked for them in years to come!!
