Shot using the old Nikon AF-S 300mm f/4 D lens, 1/1000 using auto-iso (RAW, not .jpg this time). This is my old club team I used to play for, during their season last year.

1. ok

2. person on the right is far too distracting. The raw conversion isn't great either.

3. a ball

4. good

5. best one

6. looks a very large crop and with the f5.6 the background is just too distracting.

7. heads down, faces hidden, not up to much

8. ok

9. awkward crop but ok

I would go higher than 1/1000 if you can. There's still some slight blur in some of these shots. Fingertips of 8, hand in 5 etc.

these were taken well over a year ago and I don’t even use Nikon now, but next time I try it I’ll try a higher shutter speed.
